Science has a beauty all its own. Laboratory equipment, giant antennas and particle accelerators are all extremely visually interesting. Just like the technology here in Southern California, there is no shortage of science in Greater Los Angeles. Shooting for Wired gives me numerous opportunities to photograph the amazing scientific research projects here in Los Angeles and beyond.
As a lover of music, I find great joy in the capture of amazing performances. Los Angeles is a world renowned music center and there are always great bands and artist to photograph in the act.
I have always loved technology. There is something mesmerizing about tools and electronics. More than just their purpose, I find beauty in their structure and design. Los Angeles is a city thick with technology. With three major research universities and a huge collection of aerospace and defense manufacturers I never have to go far to find eye catching tech to photograph.
With a massive immigrant population, Los Angeles is frequently the scene of large protests for immigrant rights. Those protests happen to take place a block from my loft in Downtown Los Angeles, and I seldom miss a chance to photograph the spirited protesters.
People are always an important part of any story. I especially enjoy photographing scientists and researchers proudly standing beside their work.
